Helpful hints

  • Egg roll wrappers or filo dough can be used instead of spring roll pastry if desired.
  • For a lower fat version you can bake the Samosa on a greased baking sheet instead of frying.
  • Instead of beef try ground turkey or pork for variety.

This actually sounds like a pretty good recipe for items to be frozen and used later for snacks or lunches. Instead of deep frying can you use an air fryer? Dietitian comment: I believe an air fryer will work. Let us know if you try it.

These were really good. Added some fresh chopped garlic and more Garam Masala. Would make again

Of couse, cher183001 has some more ingredients to add to the rest! YOU NEED 1 tsp finely of chopped garlic to really get the right taste. I also use 1/2 tsp saffron threads (soaked in water for about 10 minutes, and add it when you are cooking the meat. I'm going to get you all to try very spice in the worlfd. Saffron threads are pretty expensive, but you can just go to the store, and see what saffron threads look like if nothing else. Saffron threads are the orange red dried stigama of a flower from the crocus family. If you can only get powdered saffron, only use half of the above (1/8 tsp) amount suggested.
